Multi-instrumentalist Lily Rose Shaw for one night and one night only renounces her position as prolific sideman in Pōneke's favourite bands (Revulva, Dawn Diver, OdESSA, The Gallery, Elliot Dawson) to debut a programme of original vocal jazz compositions aptly named ‘The Gilded Lily’. Previously performed in an acoustic jazz quartet, Lily Rose Shaw will be subverting expectations by Gilding The Lily and presenting her compositions in a brand new light by adding a new horn section and experimenting with an electric sound. Contrary to popular opinion, Shaw believes that Gilding The Lily doesn't always have to spoil something beautiful in its own right - more is more! She will be joined on stage by Phoebe Johnson on bass, Hector McLachlan on keys, Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa on drums, James Guildford on Trumpet and Elizabeth Hocking on saxophone.
