Wellington Jazz Festival & Meow Present:
Yoko-Zuna Plays Daft Punk
Yoko-Zuna join forces to bring a live tribute night to the legendary Daft Punk.
Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 in Paris by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, they achieved popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement. They garnered critical acclaim and commercial success in the years following, combining elements of house music with funk, techno, disco, hip hop, indie rock and pop.
Formed out of the ashes from one of Auckland’s most musically-creative hubs, Yoko-Zuna (Swap Gomez, Frank Eliesa, Kenji Iwamitsu-Holdaway, and J.Y Lee) have established themselves as one of the most exciting bands in NZ.
With their combination of unique electronic/hip-hop compositions and a live show which is rarely bettered, they have collaborated with artists such as Tom Scott, MELODOWNZ, Team Dynamite, David Dallas, SWIDT, Bailey Wiley, P-Digss (Shapeshifter), Laughton Kora, Raiza Biza, just to name a few. A collection of supremely talented musicians with years of experience in many different acts, Yoko-Zuna are four of the scene's most talented musicians
