Born out of our love for kiwi music, Thursdays I'm In Love is The Tuning Fork's way of giving back to New Zealand's local music scene each month when we host three artists for you to discover and fall in love with.
Pick out one of your favourite craft beers and grab a burrito from our menu, and support the local artists performing. It’s time to take back Thursday, start your weekend at The Tuning Fork!
As if three excellent local acts aren’t enough, each month will feature a unique poster by a Kiwi graphic designer or artist.
Thursdays I’m In Love sits alongside the comedy series Fork n Funny as The Tuning Fork’s monthly offerings.
The Tuning Fork will be paying careful attention to public health and safety advice on social gatherings and will be working to create a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees. Any restrictions on gathering sizes will be adhered to carefully.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Paige
Paige has won the world over with her honest and heartfelt songs. Her EP, ALWAYS GROWING, has amassed millions of streams on Spotify and earned her two nominations at the 2020 Aotearoa Music Awards, including ‘pop artist of the year’ and ‘breakthrough artist of the year’. Her appearance at Thursdays I’m In Love will be her only Auckland show of her first-ever headline tour.
Wells*
Josh Naley, AKA Wells*, is a songwriter and producer from Auckland who takes an experimental approach to production and applies it to his passion for pop music. Wells* has written and produced songs with the likes of Paige, Navvy and Thomston, while also building his own world of music through his infectious series of mini-EP's called 'The Tapes', which have garnered millions of streams across Spotify and Apple Music.
Disciple Pati
Stepping out onto the RnB music scene with her first release, The Boy Who Cried Woman, in 2019, Disciple Pati proved to be an artist with not only a unique sound, but also a distinctive visual style. The song was a combination of eclectic trap sounds, and metaphorical, ambiguous lyrics - which she eventually moved away from, with her single release “Essence” showing a much more vulnerable side, paired with more aggressive production by Leaping Tiger (mixed by Dera Meelan). Disciple Pati is set to release her single “Serious”, a bubblegum RnB/ Pop track, produced by Edyonthebeat on June 4th, and two more upcoming singles this year (2021).
June's poster is designed by Trajan Schwencke:
Trajan Schwencke is an Aotearoa Artist based in Auckland / Queenstown. Coming from a military background he specialises in Information design and Illustration, drawing inspiration from Janes-Defence-Weekly & early 90s Marvel Comics. He is currently working with various international musicians behind the scenes for their Artwork layout, Design concepts and Video work.
