Now based in Joshua Tree, California, Aotearoa southern gothic legends The Renderers are returning to their homeland for a rare tour in May. Formed in 1989 by husband and wife duo Maryrose and Brian Crook (The Terminals, Scorched Earth Policy), The Renderers honed their shadowy country / distorted psych-guitar sound on such landmark releases as their 1992 Flying Nun single 'Touch of Evil' and 1994's That Dog's Head in the Gutter Gives Off Vibrations — still releasing spellbinding long players at a regular pace, including 2019's Brian Crook-fronted This World Just Eats Me Up Alive. Playing their first local shows in over a decade, they'll be joined for the five date tour by Lyttelton-based musicians Joe McCallum (Nadia Reid, Delaney Davidson) on drums and Anita Clark (Motte) on violin and vocals. Don't miss The Renderers at the shows below, performing "tunes from their back catalogue, followed by songs from Rocket Into Nothing (2011), In the Sodium Light (2016) and This World Just Eats Me Alive," with supports to be announced...
