Lipstick are Wellington’s hottest up-and-coming garage rockers. With a hit EP and a cult-like following, Lipstick’s nostalgic appeal is hard to deny. For fans of Arctic Monkeys, the Strokes, and newer acts like the Backseat Lovers.

Daisy Grae are a powerhouse of funk rock. They’ve been compared to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and with an infectious rhythm section and a strong lead guitar, it’s not hard to see the comparison. 

Danica Bryant is undeniably Wellington’s reigning pop princess. With superstar appeal and local charm, her combination of queer joy and colourful fun is hard to resist. At Salient Live! she’ll be performing with a full band.

Dropper are a recent iteration of a strong musical legacy. Formed out of experience in bands like Debt Club, Bleeding Star, and Roo, they boast a strong, energetic presence. See them at Salient Live and you’ll be able to say you were a fan before they were big.

What more is there to say about Keira Batten Coogan? The singer/songwriter has one of the more remarkable voices out there today. Each song touches on something deeply and painfully human, and with a stellar band, this will be a set to remember.

Ellymae Lawson is a stunning talent who’s making waves in Wellington’s music scene. Her music is hard to define, but is a loose blend of dream-pop and post-rock with elements of folk.
