Amanda Palmer
The unapologetic front-woman of The Dresden Dolls brings a very special show to St. Mary’s In Holy Trinity as part of Elemental Nights.
Amanda will perform material from across her career alongside fresh material written in lockdown right here in Aotearoa; prepare for a night of graphic, honest, funny and very human storytelling & songcraft.
Provocative, irreverent, and wildly creative, Amanda Palmer is a fearless singer, songwriter, playwright and audaciously expressive pianist who simultaneously embraces – and explodes – traditional frameworks of music, audience and art.
The show itself will feature Palmer performing with no band accompaniment, with 500% more pain, love and pathos than usual. Piano songs, ukulele songs, life stories, old favourites by The Dresden Dolls, and brand-new material written during Level 4 lockdown right here in NZ will all be on offer. Expect a night of graphic, honest, funny storytelling and very human and vulnerable songcraft.
Handkerchiefs for tears will be for sale.
