Darryn Jones is a Chicago stalwart who started DJing in the mid-80s, deep into Modern Soul, Rare Disco, Boogie and other obscure styles.In 1983 and 1984 - intrigued by the sounds of WBMX's Hot Mix 5 sprinkled with Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy and armed with his brothers’ record collection- Darryn began his journey in music during the emergence of the sound we now know as House.  Stepping away from music for a time - Darryn re-emerged on the Chicago scene in 2006 and built a reputation as a DJ’s DJ. A prolific digger and collector, his mixes are appointment listening here at Music First HQ. 

We’re extremely excited to have Darryn join us this Spring - for us he’s the essence of what we mean when we’re talking about keeping the Music First !
