WAM Announces The Launch Of Their Song Of The Year Competition

WAM's Song of the Year competition is now open. The competition boasts over $45,000 worth of prizes, over 17 different categories.

Presented by Act-Belong-Commit, an organisation focusing on supporting positive mental health and wellbeing in WA, the competition will showcase local talent and provide them with a platform to be heard by some of Australia's leading music industry professionals.

The competition recognises songwriting excellence across all genres and ages, with categories including Blues/Roots, Country, Electronic, Experimental, Folk, Jazz, Metal/Heavy, Punk/Hardcore, Pop, Rock, Urban/Hip Hop and World, plus extra categories for Schools 14 Years & Under, Schools 15-17, Outstanding Indigenous and Outstanding Regional.'

"This year we're very excited to be presenting a revamped WAM Song of the Year competition with a new, improved and easy to use entry platform, plus more prizes and categories meaning there's even more opportunities for WA songwriters to have their music heard," said WAM's Song of the Year Coordinator Claire Hodgson of the competition.
