Take Five: Missy Higgins Top Five Swimming Spots While On Tour!

One of Australia's most beloved singer-songwriters and national treasure Missy Higgins needs no introduction, but we'll give you one anyway! Since bursting onto the scene with her breakout hit and certified iconic banger Scar, Missy only continues to strengthen with timeless music and storytelling. The ARIA Hall of Famer entered a new chapter of creativity in a massive way in 2024 - the release of her album, The Second Act, redefined her artistry and brought Missy to new heights, both as a live performer and recording artist. We sat down with Missy as she took us through her top five bodies of water to jump in while on tour! Check out her picks below.

Want to catch Missy Higgins live? She will be performing at Wanderer Festival on Sat 4 Oct at Pambula Beach. Grab your tickets below!

Words by Missy:

My band and I love finding beautiful natural bodies of water to swim in on tour. These are my top 5 faves.

Ti Tree Lake Aboriginal Area, Suffolk park NSW

This place is magical. The tannins from the tea trees and paperbark trees give it a brown tea colour, but it's so clean and apparently great for your skin.

Little Blue Lake, Mount Shank SA

A volcanic sinkhole in the middle of a heap of paddocks! We got stuck behind about 100 sheep once trying to get here.

Cataract Gorge, Launceston, TAS

The place is huge and gorge-ous. There's also a giant lap pool there and about 100 peacocks parading around.

Berry springs, NT

My band and I have swam here a few times on tour. it's tropical and amazing and so warm, always a must-stop when we're playing in Darwin.

South Durras Beach, South Coast NSW

We stayed here while playing a show in Bateman's Bay and it was up there with the most magical beach swims I've ever had.

Missy Higgins will be performing at Wanderer Festival in Pambula Beach NSW on 4-5 October. Hit up her fave South Durras Beach if you're heading down the south coast, or check out here for some magical places to swim on the Sapphire Coast!
