Workshop for Professionals on Mental Health, Burnout Prevention, Suicide and PTSD Awareness

Designed for professionals working in the mental health field, this event offers valuable tools and strategies to sustain your well-being while enhancing your professional skills. Mental health work can be rewarding yet demanding, often leading to burnout and stress. This workshop focuses on maintaining a healthy work-life balance and equips you with advanced knowledge in critical areas like PTSD management and suicide prevention.

Key Sessions: 50 minutes of practical, interactive strategies include:-

  • Michael Hempseed - Burnout and Resilience: Strategies to prevent burnout, manage stress, and foster emotional balance in high-pressure environments.

  • Michael Hempseed - Advanced PTSD Insights: Exploring the latest research, diagnostic approaches, and therapeutic interventions for PTSD 

  • Raranga | weaving and toiora | wellbeing - Marcanui Taura who brings a wealth of skills in wellbeing (toiora). In this session, Marc will teach the art of raranga (weaving harakeke | flax), incorporating the values of tikanga, identity, belonging, and culture.

  • Michael Hempseed - Suicide Prevention Techniques: Effective tools for identifying risk factors and supporting at-risk individuals.

  • Neurofeedback - Martina Bruwer (Psychologist): A therapeutic technique that seeks to modulate and retrain brain function to address neurological and/or psychological symptoms of concern. Neurofeedback is a particularly effective treatment for people suffering with substance abuse, PTSD, ADHD, self harm and who are suicidal. 

These interactive workshops include opportunities to network with peers, share experiences, and engage with leading experts in the field. Designed to empower you both personally and professionally, this event emphasises the importance of your well-being as you work to support others.
